Welcome to the Concow Cabins Design Contest website.
The Concow Cabins Design Contest and initiative was created to assist families following the Camp Fire in the Yankee Hill and Concow area.
The goal is to build 20 homes with award winning plans from this contest. The concept was modeled after recovery efforts in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Katrina Cottages are small, affordable homes that were developed to meet the special needs of Louisiana residents.
206 homes lost in Concow didn't qualify for federal aid, and other sources of aid were used before these residents could benefit and rebuild. Concow cabins will be affordable, cozy structures in the 500 - 900 square foot range. The Concow Cabins initiative as defined by the Yankee Hill Fire Safe Council intend on making Concow Cabins plans available to those who were under-insured or not insured free of charge.
This web site is a launch point for the Concow Cabins architectural design contest. We encourage all architects to review this web site, California Title 24 and Title 25 requirements, sign up for this contest and submit their best plans to help out this community.
